— 2014-02-05 —

According to the "Produkty Pitania"  assessment, 70-80 % of market participants, operating in this segment, produce lent-diet semi-finished products. On average it is usually about two to five designations. You can’t find them in every shop  "near home" , and even in the supermarket it is usually presented, not more than five or six designations. As for hypermarkets, such positions are regularly presented here nine to twelve, and in the season time it may reach twenty.

"Most of the frozen ready-to-eat meals are either first courses in meat broth or main courses, which consist of meat, animal fats, eggs, fish, milk, cream or cheese. Yes, and the consumption of vegetable oils is limited in this time period for those who abide fasting rules.

"Therefore, if someone looks for a frozen lean meals, he/she can find them in the category of frozen products, and not in the category of ready-to-eat meals": explained the vice - president of  " Produkty Pitania"  Damir Imamovic. - It can be vegetable patties, sticks, vegetables and mixtures of vegetables, forming foods of mashed potatoes, etc. Together with the Danilov Patriarchal Monastery we produce a whole line of lent-diet – ready-to-eat meals under the trademark "Rossiiskaya Korona" that contain only natural ingredients of vegetable origin. Additional deterrent factor of meatless dishes development is that mainly older people fast, while ready-to-eat frozen meals are aimed at younger and more active audience."
