New appointments at Produkty Pitania Company

New appointments at Produkty Pitania – one of Russia’s leading producers of frozen chicken-based convenience foods and preserved groceries.

Vladimir Zarudny, former General Director of Produkty Pitania Kombinat Company (production division of the company based in Kaliningrad) was appointed Produkty Pitania’s Business Development Director and was transferred to  the Moscow-based office of the company.

Press releases from Produkty Pitania stated that Zarudn’s new position will help "streamline the company’s operations in view of expansion of its presence in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Brukhovetskaya Village in Krasndodar territory.

Zarudny was replaced in his post of General Director of Produkty Pitania Kombinat Company by Mikhail Plukhin. Before coming to work at in Produkty Pitania, Mr. Plukhin was head of Kaliningrad’s regional Administration Committee for Development of the Special Economic Zone.

The president of the company Stefano Vlahovic says "expansion of business in Russia and CIS along with local market development prospects require better coordination of the company’s regional operations". "New appointments indicate that the company’s development is entering a new higher level. By making major initial investments in production and technology we have set grounds for today’s active promotion of our key brand – Zolotoy Petushok, expansion of distribution network and creation of a competitive network of regional representative offices", President of the company says.

Produkty Pitania was founded in 1994 to import chicken meat from USA and Europe and since 1998 it operates its own production facilities in Russia. One of the company’s major shareholders is EBRD holding 27.5% of its authorized stock.

In the months of January through March 2005, the company delivered 21.4 thousand tons of products, which exceeded the production results of the same period last year by 45%.
