As recently as 10 years ago, frozen convenience foods were considered to be of low quality, with limited range.

Today the level of demand for convenience foods is used to assess living standards. Stefano Vlahovic, President of PRODUKTY PITANIA Company, Russia’s leading manufacturer of frozen chicken-based convenience foods, speaks about the recent changes.

What are special features of frozen foods?

The frozen foods sector is developing at the same rate as the industrial freezing sector. And in Russia, the rate is 10% or more a year. More and more people have come to understand the many advantages of deep freezing.  It is definitely the best way to preserve food without having to use any preservatives or chemicals. Chock freezing chills the product at -40 С, and ships it to retail facilities at -18 С.  By preserving the food’s cellular structure, we can retain its taste and quality. The major product storage and delivery issue we face now is upgrading the cooling hardware at storage and retail facilities. So we have to build our own storage facilities to ensure the high quality of our products.
