Produkty Pitania, Russia’s leading manufacturer of frozen chicken products has invested $4 million to redesign its Zolotoy Petushok trademark and promote the new look with an aggressive ad campaign,” the company’s Vice-President for Marketing, Tea Grguric, recently announced.

According to Grguric, this investment will boost company sales by 20%, in line with its global strategy to expand Produkty Pitania’s market presence and competitive advantage.

The company was founded in 1994 to import chicken products from the US and Europe. Then in 1998, it built its own production facilities in Russia, and now operates three plants in Kaliningrad, which produce as much as 340 tons of product per day.  EBRD is one of Produkty Pitania’s major stockholders with 27.5% of its shares.

In 2005, the company plans to open its fourth production facility, which is designed to produce up to 600 tons per day.  During the first half of 2005, the company produced 44,500 tons, thus exceeding last year’s output for the same period by 41%.
