Representatives from the Produkty Pitania Company - Russia’s largest frozen foods manufacturer – joined local government officials in Gusev, Kaliningrad yesterday to seal the deal on a new $200 million production plant there.  According to Produkty Pitania’s President, Stefano Vlahovic,  this latest project is yet another bold step in the company’s ambitious strategic development plan, aimed at winning Russian dinner tables.

The new Gusev plant will produce dough, vegetable, and meat-based frozen convenience foods, at an estimated production rate of 600 tons a day.  What’s more, it will include state-of the art storage facilities, along with a railway branch, and treatment technologies in line with international standards.  Produkty Pitania will begin construction in the latter half of 2006.
