Produkty Pitania, Russia’s largest manufacturer of frozen convenience food, signed a $200 million investment agreement yesterday with government officials in Gusev, to build a new, state-of-the-art production plant there.  Company President Stefano Vlahovic said that the new project is the next logical step in Produkty Pitania’s aggressive strategic development plan, which outlines the company’s vision for capturing an even larger portion of the Russian consumer market.

In addition to its production facilities, the plant will incorporate storage and treatment facilities, along with a private railway – all of which were designed to conform to international standards. Construction will begin in the latter half of 2006.
