Produkty Pitania Company expands the line of its Zolotoy Petushok ready-to-eat lunches

 Produkty Pitania Company introduced two new products under its Zolotoy Petushok trademark: Lasagna in Bolognese Gravy and Four Cheese Lasagna. This step was taken due to high consumer demand for the products and to the positive prospects of ready-to-eat lunches segment. The company is producing larger servings of well-known and most popular consumer products: Lasagna with meat and cheese. From now on the range of products includes 740 g packages with two trays of standard 370 g servings in each package. 

 

Complemented with the two new products the ready-to-eat lunch line from Zolotoy Petushok now includes 5 types of lasagna. These meals are composed of thin layers of dough made from high-quality hard wheat served with a variety of fillings (meat, mushrooms, vegetables, and now cheese) and gravies. 

 

Produkty Pitania Company launched production of foods in this category early in 2005. Before Zolotoy Petushok introduced its lasagna Russian consumers were not used to consuming the product. This is why the first product was designed to meet specific taste preferences of Russian target audiences and it was based on achievements of two national cuisines – Russian and Italian. Introduction of lasagna on the market was backed with informational and educational materials published in the press to tell the story of the course and explain its consumer advantages. 

Presently the studies administered by Produkty Pitania demonstrate that the general level of food culture with Russian consumers has grown, notably with respect to lasagna.

The most recent novelties – Lasagna with Bolognese Gravy and Four Cheese Lasagna – are classical Italian courses. They were designed following the traditional national recipe and in order to deliver the recipe Produkty Pitania invited a cooking process specialist from Italy. 

Each of these new products is an ideal office lunch or a quick and unusual Italian-style dinner for a family. The special heat-resistant tray provides for easy cooking either in regular or microwave ovens. As a result, the traditionally difficult to cook lasagna only needs heating before it is ready to be served.

Lasagna with Bolognese Gravy and Four Cheese Lasagna are delivered in consumer-convenient packages with the optimal weight of 370 g. The design of packages includes the traditional brand token – orange checks – signaling to consumers that the product is a ready-to-eat meal. The products are already available across the company’s distribution network with distribution focus shifted towards special preference for Central and North-West parts of the country.

Produkty Pitania Vice-President Damir Imamovic says: «Ready-to-eat lunches represent the complex and very prospective niche that takes major financial and labor costs in its development. However, the more difficult the winning of a category is, the more interested we are in producing such products. We are audacious in terms of labor-consuming developments, and we always strive to further sophisticate and expand our existing products. Presently we are preparing to build our new plant in Gusev, Kaliningrad region. Its production capacity will be partially tailored for production of ready-to-eat lunches».
