— 2007-12-18 —

Interview with Damir Imamovic, Vice-President of Produkty Pitania.

In 2007 Produkty Pitania Company continued implementation of key development strategy components. We developed and introduced a number of new products to the market, made additional investments in expansion of production capacity and upgrade of equipment.

Our product portfolio was further diversified with a new category: natural ready-to-eat products. In addition, we further expanded our core range of frozen poultry convenience foods with new complex recipe products and a variety of fillings.

This year we entered another price segment with our premium Delicacy meals as part of our co-branding project implemented jointly with one of Croatia’s oldest and most famous hotels - Palace Hotel Zagreb.

Batmukomol is the newly opened testing ground of the company, which helps us experiment with new products to be further transferred to our new plant in Gusev for day-to-day production.

According to Business Analytics, as at September 1, 2007 the share of Produkty Pitania in cost terms was 13.6%.

In 2008 we are planning to heavily invest in the development of our production capacity and distribution system. We will continue building the new plant in Gusev to produce meat and vegetable frozen convenience foods and dough products. The $200 million investment agreement for the project was signed in February 2006.

We will further expand our product portfolio with highly processed products, ready-to-eat lunches and dough products.

As we launch our dough products business we enter the segment, which is new for us.

Another development priority is the development of partnerships with retail chains, including co-branding initiatives. We have had the positive experience of such projects and currently we are in the process of negotiations with potential partners in Moscow and other regions.
